ISIS new target: Lebanon steels for big battle ahead?

ISIS (Islamic States of Iraq and Syria) clearly hasn't had enough of expanding its territory, as the group has set sights on neighbouring Lebanon after capturing key areas in Syria. Though battlefield for Daish (Dawlat al Islamia fi Iraq Sham) in Syria is still as complicated as it was at the start, the ultra-hardcore faction is fighting multiple enemies in s.

NYMag story on ISIS activities: With Islamic States fighters likely to move into Lebanon, a Christian village bordering Syria has grabbed the headlines. People aren't afraid of a possible invasion by ISIS as they think Hezbollah is by their side and will protect the village.

A ruthless ISIS may be of uneven quality and its strict interpretation of religion has earned it a bad reputation, but it has shown resilience in the battlefield. Syrian government of Assad and ally Hezbollah clearly have what it takes to engage an eager ISIS within Syria, keeping it from making considerable gains in Lebanon (in case the hardcore Islamic faction attempts to move into Hezbollah's home). It remains to be seen whether ISIS that has now locked horns with Kurdish YPG near Turkish border will expand its goals beyond Syria in recent months.

Hezbollah and regime forces are putting up a tough fight in Qalamoun as they repelled an ISIS attack, killing several insurgents.

Israeli soldiers take a wounded IDF member to medical aid after a Hamas sniper assault inside Israel territory

According to a Gaza-based news source, Hamas militants led by Qassam Brigade launched a sophisticated attack Saturday morning as they crawled through a tunnel, catching Israeli soldiers off guard. Militants, who wore army uniforms as a camouflage, used machine guns and sniper rifles in the assault and crawled their way back through the same tunnel safe and sound.

Fighting has picked up pace inside Gaza, and Hamas continued to shoot off rockets into southern Israel as the war stretched into its 12^th day.

Israeli officials confirmed the death of at least two soldiers as they announced their name on the media. The dead include a 45-year-old reservist Amotz Greenberg and a 20-year-old Srg Adar Bersano.

The fresh attack and the death of two Israeli soldiers came as a big surprise to war experts as Hamas fighters managed to slip into Israeli territory and kill soldiers without getting caught in a serious confrontation.
